I am a VSU alumnus, earning 4x BBAs and my MBA in 2022. I’ve lived in Valdosta since 2012, moving here my sophmore year in high school to Lowndes. Outside of living in ATL for 2.5 years while still finding myself; I’ve made Valdosta my home. I’m back at VSU; finishing my BBA in Accounting + starting a MAcc summer 2026. I work on north campus at the JDL Center for Entrepreneurship as an intern, helping students work toward their business goals!
My studies started as pre-dental fall 2014. During my 2nd year; I started a minor in entrepreneurship. I wanted to break up the class+labs pace by taking a business class, but I switched my major to management right after. It felt more natural, since I grew up around family or personal small business (I met and began working with Bryce at this time too!).
Fast forward to senior year and I was unsure about everything. I had been bored of class at that point in my life (again) and it reflected in my personal life/grades. To be frank, undiagnosed ADHD doesn’t let you choose what you focus on… and at one point, I had no particular idea who I “actually was”. Combine this with the passing of my Gung Gung (Grandfather) at this same period, and I needed a change of pace…
While on academic probation (TWICE!!! during this period…😅 😮💨) I self-studied investments. One day overhearing my professor talk to a student about double/triple majoring (accounting + finance + economics) to become a star student in investments, I mentally took up that offer. To that end; it was also initially part joke-part spite. I had an aunt insist I was going to the military when I graduated high school, irregardless of what we talked about. Funny how life works to be honest.
This ultimately led to BBAs in Finance, Economics, Marketing, and Management+minor Entrepreneurship. I was Accelerated MBA track| Fintech Department GA| President/VP Economics Analysis Association| VSIG Invesment Group member
By blind luck and some amount of hard-work, I was able to parlay that knowledge into some pocket change to fund some personal projects.
●I worked to restore my grandparent’s home in SC
●Self-funded a home garment design studio and workshop
●Reinvested into my joint production company, JBR Creative LLC, providing photo and videography services to the South-East region.
In 2025, I returned to VSU as a tutor for MBAs/undergrads, intern on campus, and am currently pursuing a path towards a CPA/MAcc.
